Are you looking for something to do in and around Pine Knoll Shores, which is to say in and around the Flying Catnap by the Sea, on May 21st, say between 11:00am and 6:00pm? Well, how about the 3rd Annual Atlantic Beach Music Festival at the boardwalk at the Circle in Atlantic Beach?
We are talking about 6 miles from the Catnap. That’s almost perfect: far enough that you don’t have to listen, close enough to enjoy any part of the [free! did I mention free? no pets, though, so Coco the superdog is not welcome] festivities that you’d like without any difficulty at all.
The acts include:
- Holiday Band (the South-East’s Primier Party and Dance Band … it’s right on their website)
- Band of Oz (a local favorite)
- Fantastic Shakers (they’re fantastic … )
- Mighty Saints of Soul (upbeat funk and rock; 3 of the 4 members sta
So how do you get there? Well, parking is a bit of an issue but there will be a shuttle service. The two best spots from the Catnap are at the Doubletree Hotel and the Atlantic Station Shopping Center (where our Food Lion is). They’re both West Fort Macon Road between the Catnap and the Circle, but mostly close to the Circle.
