The Bogue Banks Christmas Flotilla is tomorrow evening and the call has gone out for more folks with boats to sign up! If you have a vote and want to participate, pre-register by contacting Natalie Gibble (252-247-2268) or John Clarke at email@example.com. The organizers want the name of your boat and crew for the announcers at the park.
This is a big event for Bogue Banks! Last year the Banks Flotilla had more boats than Swansboro event and it was a big hit with lots of creativity by our boaters.
Need to launch but are not a Pine Knoll Association homeowner? The Association will leave the gate open at Brock Basin for you! You can even store your boat overnight by working with Dick Belanger, the Pine Knoll Association Harbor Master. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone # 252-646-3762. Arrangements can even be made to leave a vehicle or trailer in the parking area overnight.
Plan to assemble at Brock Basin around 4:30 PM. The Flotilla will begin about 4:45 or a bit after by heading North out into the sound. It will then turn back into the cut that runs parallel to Oakleaf Drive and continue to the east opening of the canal at McNeill Park.
Dulcinea is the name of the Clarke’s boat and will lead the Flotilla.
If you have a VHF radio, the organizers ask that you tune to Channel 72 for Flotilla communications.
What? You just want to watch!? The viewing area will be at McNeill Park or along the canal or the two bridges.
For those folks with a home on the canal, the Flotilla organizers ask you to please turn your dock lights on to guide the boaters.
